VERBUND Wind Power Romania, the Romanian subsidiary of the Austrian leader VERBUND, has acquired a fully developed wind project from Monsson, an international renewable energy solutions group specialized in wind and solar energy, energy storage, and green hydrogen.
The wind project in Caraș-Severin County has a total capacity of 272 MW and an estimated annual production of approximately 569 GWh. The project was purchased at the Ready to Build (RTB) stage, with all relevant permits and connection points in place. It is expected to enter the construction phase in 2026.
"We are pleased and proud to have started this cooperation with VERBUND, a top electricity company from Austria and one of Europe’s largest hydroelectric power producers. As we have anticipated for some time, the need for clean energy as a central point of development for the energy sector in Romania and Europe is increasing," said Sebastian Enache, Head of M&A and member of the Board of Directors at Monsson.
